Informations espèce

Commentaires sur l'espèce

Unique Éphippigère de la région, on l’identifie aisément à la forme particulière de son thorax surélevé. Les déterminations sont plus délicates dans les aires où d’autres espèces et sous-espèces de ce genre se chevauchent. Les œufs n’éclosent qu’au minimum deux ans après la ponte dans le sol.

Ciblage des prospections

Espèce à rechercher la journée, notamment le matin quand le soleil n’est pas encore à son zénith et pousse les individus à fuir les trop fortes chaleurs. Dans l’Est et le Nord de l’Île-de-France, peu d’observations ont été réalisées.

Milieux chaud et sec, avec une strate arbustive bien développée. Fruticées, vignes non traitées, lisières bien ensoleillées.
