Commentaires sur l'espèce
Espèce longtemps confondue avec E. declivus, elle est nettement moins commune dans la région. On la distingue de cette dernière notamment par le bout des antennes plus clair chez E. elegantulus.
Ciblage des prospections
Le chant est proche de ceux d’E. declivus mais discernable avec l’habitude. Il est adulte de la fin juillet à octobre.
Le criquet blafard est thermophile. Il fréquente préférentiellement les milieux sablonneux. On le retrouve également sur les linéaires bien exposés (talus, bordures) et les pelouses et friches sèches.
